  Pr NOCERA Pascal
LIA Avignon  France

Pascal Nocera defended his PhD thesis in Computer Science in April 1992 on “Rule driven neural networks for automatic speech recognition” at the University of Avignon (France) where he is now an associate professor in Computer Science. From 1997 to 2005, he was assistant director of the LIA (Computer Science Laboratory of Avignon) and is responsible of the Automatic Speech Recognition Team. He was involved in several national and international projects on signal processing and speech recognition and supervised or co-supervised many PhD and Masters. Since several years, he supervised the development of the LIA’s speech recognition system (called Speeral). More than just software, Speeral is a toolbox to build automatic speech recognition systems, and make research. This toolbox was already used to process under-resourced languages like Somali and Vietnamese (He has co-supervised 2 PhD in these languages).
